Six years ago, Elon Musk first spoke about Hyperloop. Today, Virgin Hyperloop One, Hyperloop Transportation Technology, and The Boring Company develop routes for this fast train.

Virgin Hyperloop has published the first images revealing the interior of the transport of the future: 965 km / h to get from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 45 minutes.

The Virgin Hyperloop company has not stopped working during the pandemic. In fact, on 8 November, the Nevada desert made (again) history: the first trip with passengers of the train of high speed in the United States was tested in a corner of the desert, star of nuclear tests, scenario movies and so many other “anecdotes”.

Now, the first images are launched to know, in more detail, how we will travel in the future (or how the next generations will do it); renderings of the distribution, design, and architecture of the propulsion capsules that will be loaded, first, by citizens of the United Arab Emirates and the United States (where the first routes have already been approved).

With the newly released video, the company shows the viewer what the experience will be like from start to finish: from arrival at the state-of-the-art station to board one of the capsules.

Although after viewing you think that, a priori, the protocol is not far from any ordinary crossing on a high-speed train, we must not forget that the great difference lies in time: that a means of transport on rails manages to connect Amsterdam with Paris in just 90 minutes or San Francisco with Los Angeles in 45 minutes, it is not trivial. For this, it will reach speeds of up to 965 km / h.

“Designing a new mode of transportation from scratch is both an opportunity and a responsibility,” said Sara Luchian, director of the Passenger Experience department at Virgin Hyperloop and one of the first people to ride the train, last November.

“Hyperloop technology — and what it allows — is changing paradigms. Hence, the passenger experience must be nothing short of extraordinary,” he said.

To achieve a fascinating multi-sensory experience, Hyperloop has enlisted the collaboration of renowned international companies, see: Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) for portal designs, Teague for capsule designs, SeeThree for video and animation, and Man-Made Music for sound identity.

“Virgin Hyperloop can accelerate the future of mobility on land. The new mode of travel at supersonic speed rethinks transportation and the perception of space, landscape, time, and distance,” said Bjarke Ingels, founder and creative director of BIG -Bjarke Ingels Group.

“In these times, Virgin Hyperloop, which takes off from our portals, provides a holistic and intelligent transport so that a globalized community can travel across great distances in a safer, cleaner, easier, and faster way than airlines, “ he stressed.

In turn, Virgin Hyperloop has opted for a design that is defined as ecological, soft, safe, and pleasant: the recessed seats provide a greater sense of space, the raised aisle gives it a unique touch and details of the furniture, such as the strips of vegetation or wood, give a twist to the conventional image of a public transport vehicle.

“We have harnessed decades of experience in designing how people and goods are transported, taking some of the best aspects of aviation, rail, automotive, and even hospitality, to create a new and better passenger experience,” said John Barratt, CEO and President of Teague.

On the other hand, the lighting in the cabin — including the discreet information panels — is dynamic; in other words, it is adjusted according to the activity of the traveler and the circumstances that accompany the journey.

As for the sound, as explained by Joel Beckerman, founder and main composer of Man Made Music, it has been selected in a rigorous way to awaken in the passenger an amalgam of peaceful impressions: from evoking a feeling of privacy and space to flooding the atmosphere of security and calm.

“The signs sound of the identity system Virgin Hyperloop provide guidance to passengers throughout their experience while instilling confidence, certainty, and clarity: what.” Feel “more than” hear “ The interface is humanized in a fresh and familiar way, “commented Joel Beckerman.

Are you wondering what the price of the ticket will be? Well, although the rates will vary depending on the route, Virgin Hyperloop tells us that it will be closer to that of a road trip than that of a flight since accessibility is one of the fundamental pillars of the project.

“High-speed commuter travel is not currently feasible for most people, but we want to change that concept,” said Jay Walder, CEO of Virgin Hyperloop.

On-demand and direct to the destination, the high-speed train would be capable of transporting thousands of passengers per hour, despite the fact that each car carries a maximum of 28 people.

When can we get on one of them? Although the plan is to install Hyperloop around the world, the company must first achieve security certification, which it expects to have in 2025. If so, business operations will begin in 2030.
